Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
Screen Mirror is built to mirror your phone without collecting your personal data. This policy explains exactly what happens to information when you use the Android app, the website, and the receiver.
No account, no login
You do not create an account to use Screen Mirror. We do not ask for your name, email, or phone number to mirror a screen. There is no profile, no password, and no user database.
Your screen is never recorded
When you mirror, the video streams peer-to-peer between your phone and the receiver over your local Wi-Fi network. The signaling server only relays the short connection handshake so the two devices can find each other. It does not receive, view, record, or store the contents of your screen. When you stop mirroring or close the page, the session ends and the pairing code is discarded.
Camera
The app requests camera access for one purpose only: to scan the pairing QR code shown on the receiver so your phone can connect. The camera is used only while you are scanning. No photo, video, or image from the camera is saved, uploaded, or shared, and you can decline the permission and type the pairing code by hand instead.
What the app collects
The Android app uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the app is used and to detect and fix crashes. These collect aggregate usage events and technical diagnostics such as device model, operating-system version, app version, general region, and crash stack traces. As part of this, Google may process an advertising identifier and similar app-instance identifiers. This data is used only to keep the app working and improve it. It does not capture the contents of your screen, your files, your photos, or the video you mirror, and it is never sold. Google processes this data as described in the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation and the Google Privacy Policy. On the website, we may also use privacy-respecting, aggregate visit analytics that are counted in totals and not tied to you as an individual.
Data sharing and retention
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with third parties for advertising. The only processor that receives diagnostic data is Google, through the Firebase services described above, so that the app can function and be improved. Analytics and crash data are retained by Google for a limited period under its standard retention settings and then deleted or aggregated. Because we hold no personal account, there is no separate profile of you stored on our servers.
Cookies
The site uses no advertising or tracking cookies. Any cookie or local storage value is limited to keeping the site working, such as remembering a layout preference. You can clear these at any time in your browser settings without losing access to the tool.
Your rights (GDPR & similar laws)
If you are in the EU, UK, or a region with comparable privacy laws, you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data, to object to processing, and to request data portability. Because we do not hold personal accounts, there is usually nothing tied to you to retrieve. You can also reset or delete your advertising identifier in your Android settings at any time. If you believe we hold data about you, contact us and we will respond.
Age requirement and children
Screen Mirror is a general-purpose utility intended for users aged 13 and over, and it is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app and provided data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of the page. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
